Jedidiah Trust aims to ensure that the children we support at our selected creches do in fact benefit from the food being provided on a monthly basis. As a means to monitor that the children receive daily meals (other than those random pop up visits to deliver food), Jedidiah Trust has trained team members that do basic body measurements on all the children on a 6-monthly basis. This data is collected and compared over time to monitor that none of the children regress growth wise while accessing e’Pap at our creches. Furthermore, we use the measurements to identify any children that may need to visit a clinic due to unexplained weight loss, stunting, underweight, or no weight gain as expected.
The measurements taken for each child present at the monitoring visit include: weight (in kilograms), height (in meters) and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC).
